I created Body Politic in 2018, because I saw a gap in the wellness market.

I wanted to create space for inclusivity, accessibility, and crucial discussions about the very real connection between wellness, politics, and personal identity.

Body Politic is a queer feminist wellness collective, events series, and media company aimed at creating content and events on accessible wellness for marginalized populations. Our event programming and online content focuses on the intersection of wellness and politics, and under-discussed issues in wellness, such as the way wellness intersects with gender, sexuality, and race, among other topics.

Since our first event in April 2018, we’ve held over a dozen successful events across New York City, launched a wellness publication, and grown a robust community of LGBTQ+ folks and allies who are passionate about building a better wellness culture. As Body Politic’s Event Director and EIC, I’ve spearheaded our programming and content, produced and hosted all our events, and moderated panel discussions.

We’ve worked with partners like Man Repeller, THINX, MNDFL, the Museum of Food and Drink, Shaktibarre, and The Phluid Project, among others to produce events that tackle topics like size-inclusivity, self-defense, and sexuality & movement.

We offer large-scale, donation-based ticketed events, like our signature “Body Talks”…

where artists, activists, and wellness practitioners share short stories on a theme, like art as wellness, or skincare & beauty. We also program smaller community events like book club meetings, hikes, and “mocktail meetups”.

Most recently, we launched a global COVID-19 Support Group that’s helping thousands of patients…

We’re helping COVID-19 patients connect, and access emotional support and resources, from yoga sequences for healing patients to guides on arming against medical bias, and navigating COVID-19 alone at home. Click here if you are sick and want to join our group. Click here to support our work.
